Hi I'm new to the site

my name's raquel.. i was born into a jw family.
i started leading a double life around 14y/o and got caught drinking by another sister when i was 15 and saw that as my opportunity to quit the panthomime and stopped going to the meetings.

My Story

i started to realize it wasn't the truth over 2 years ago in late october/early november 2014. i don't know how exactly it happened.
i remember i had just heard about confirmation bias, and it hit me: i realized that i would be guilty of confirmation bias if i didn't look at the other side.

Has anyone else seen this video on JW Broadcasting?
by NikL inso i was checking out the website to see what the february broadcast was all about before i watched it with my jw wife.. on the front page was this video.... https://tv.jw.org/#en/video/vodbible/pub-jwbai_201607_1_video.
i watched it and pretended i had never been a jw.. if you pretend you don't understand their particular language it makes for a interesting (if not vague) watch.. btw i've seen several of the actors before.

Outrageous!! Did you notice the amount of carbs at the breakfast table?? donuts, bread, juice, fruits. That's not a balanced diet. I am surprised mom and son are so slim.

2017 Circuit Assembly: Lesbians at school demonstration
by darkspilver insteve2: is there some way this can be presented so that it is crystal clear what was actually in the demonstrations and what was added?
i guess some will think it should be obvious - but this is where misunderstandings arise because we end up wrongly attributing something to jw organization that was never said.. circuit assembly theme: maintain love for jehovah!.
note to speaker: warmly encourage young ones to prove their friendship with jehovah by observing his commandments and defending his standards.

"wetbacks", "demonizing", "criminals" C'mon guys, it's economics, complex economics that benefit and hurt the U.S., and the net result is hard to quantify. That's why we have had unchecked illegal immigration for decades.
I feel the main threat to the average white guy is not economics, it's cultural. Yes as a Mexican born and raised in Mexico but living in the U.S. for 30 years, I see how communities of immigrants are changing the landscape... for the worse... It's rather easy to tell the predominant ethnic group living in an area by the looks of that community.

Never a JW. Point to a single instance here where someone called someone else a bigot for referring to someone as illegal. This post and that commercial is about the wall. I for one believe that illegal immigration needs addressing. The wall is not the way.
Many people defending illegal immigration refer to people opposing illegal immigration as bigots. That's a debate killer. Can you see the big "I" in the word ILLEGAL. Referring to illegal people as "illegals" is not derogatory, is factual.
The wall is a bad move and a waste of money. I doubt it will ever be finished. Trump is bluffing and trying to score points with his supporters. He is running the country as he ran his real estate empire. He is bluffing knowing full well that he won't get his "initial offer", but will get much better than "fair price":

trying to explain away the results and minimizing the damages.
what he has failed to understand is that the society had and still does have certain policies in place that hide the sexual abuse of minors.

Well they have only lost one case and that case was greatly reduced on appeal.
How many have they lost before reaching the courts, otherwise known as settlements?

We don't live in a perfect global free market, but we keep moving in that direction, and more and more the Chinese worker is getting better wages at the expense of the American worker's wages (for example). This movement will only stop with national isolationist policies, or in a free market, when the workers in China reach the same economic level as the American workers, all other things being equal. It's the invisible hand!
Regarding people at the top, I still believe is the invisible hand, but certainly a glitch of the free market that runs the risk of collapsing the economic system when the wealth is concentrated in few hands. That's why most nations have progressive taxation, to reduce that risk.
